Topic:Milk pudding and Matcha pudding with animal’s shiratama 


 It’s been very hot lately, I want to eat cold sweets.  And I want to cook shiratama because I saw cute animal’s shiratama on the Internet. I like milk and Matcha, so I cook milk pudding and Matcha pudding.

 Pudding is a sweet that originated in England. It is said that pudding was introduced to Japan from the late Edo period to the early Meiji period.

 Shiratama is a dumpling made of shiratama flour. According to one theory, in the Kamakura period, Japanese ascetic monks and monks who visited the Southern Sung Dynasty, China to practice Zen, brought ‘Yuen’. Yuen is a traditional Chinese dish made by rolling glutinous rice. Shiratama spread in Japan during the Genroku era in the Edo period, and sugar and bean paste became easier to obtain.


You will need

・A small pot

・A bowl to mix

・2 small cups to serve

Ingredients

<Milk pudding part>

・water:50ml

・milk:300ml

・sugar:about 3 tablespoon

・powdered gelatin:5g






<Matcha green tea pudding part>

・milk:100ml

・matcha powder:about 1 tablespoon

・powdered gelatin:3g







<Shiratama part>

・shiratama flour:50g

・lukewarm water:40g

・cocoa powder:a little





1.Dissolve sugar in 150ml of milk in a small pot, next put the gelatin dissolved in hot water in it

2.Put cold 150ml of milk in 1 and mix it to lower the temperature all at once

3.Transfer it to a container and harden it in the refrigerator

4.Mix 100ml of milk, about 1 tablespoon matcha powder, and about 3g gelatin in a small pot, move it over the hardened 3 when it’s completely mixed

5.Put 4 in the refrigerator and harden it

6.Put 45ml of water in rice flour little by little and mix it

7.Knead it by hand and make the shape you like, next put it in boiling water

8.If it floats, you’ll take it out, next apply cocoa powder dissolved in water to the tip of the toothpick and drow animal’s face

9.Decorate on top of harden 5! Complete them


If you don’t like one or both matcha and milk, I think it's good that you cook another taste. And if you want to eat healthy food, I think it’s good that you change soy milk from milk. Pudding is a Western confectionery, but the taste is Japanese style, so I felt strange. I put shiratama on it, so I think it’s delicious even if it’s topped with bean paste. I ate it when I was about to get tired in the summer or when I didn’t have time but was a little hungry, so it is highly recommended for those who are feeling summer fatigue and those who want to eat something light and sweet. I’m 100% satisfied. I recommend it to you!
